(All money raised will be donated to a charitable cause.)

Learn from Master Chef trained at “Nobu Tokyo” and Ryugin Tokyo. He is currently working at Mikado restaurant in Edmonton. Please bring your own knife and cutting board.

Asian Heritage Month in Calgary

May is the Asian Heritage Month. The Kick-off will be at Eau Claire Market (corner of 2nd St. & 2nd Ave. SW), on Saturday, May 5th , 2012, at noon. Come and enjoy some taste of Asian food and entertainment (including taiko).

May 6th, May 13th, and May 20th (all Sundays), Bus Tours to various Asian sites. The tour to our Nikkei Cultural Centre (coordinated by Taeko and Mai Nagao) will be on May 20th.

May 11th (Fri) and May 12th (Sat), Film Weekend. The titles and the venue will be forthcoming. (Still unknown is whether a Japanese movie is included.)

May 26th (Sat) is the Cultural Gala at the Chinese Cultural Centre, at 6:30 PM. A table of 10 can be reserved for $350. This is a wrap-up, and will consist of a sumptuous 10-course Chinese banquet. Entertainment is abound with various cultural performances.

CJBA Golf Tournament

July 24th at Lynx Ridge Golf Course. Tee off is at noon, scramble Format, 50/50 draw, two mulligans each Green Fee same as last year $ 140 per person. Lots of prizes available. Registration forms will be available May / June.

2012 NAJC Japan Heritage Tour
The NAJC in co-operation with Safeway Holidays and Signet Tours has organized a unique Japan Heritage Tour to take place from October 2nd to 10th(11th for Eastern Canada participants) of this year. This fully escorted tour is ideal for non-Japanese speaking tourists and includes a one night, two day Inaka (rural) minshuku with a Japanese farming family. The tour will visit the Kansai cities of: Osaka, Nara, Kyoto and Kobe and includes a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and the Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island.

Cost:  $3,858 from Toronto and $3,776 from Vancouver (excludes fuel surcharge and taxes)
